Quick Access Codes to Reign and Serve in this life

Men today experience a lot of pressure from all spheres of life. As a result, they often are left to grab whatever motivation they can find to keep going. Sometimes, it works and mostly it is a secular humanistic view of what a man can achieve and become. While there is truth in motivation, the spiritual identity is where inner motivation originates and becomes sustainable. In a busy life with an overload of distracting media and information, it is essential to set aside focussed time with God, with guided Scripture reading and accurate prayer, to anchor the soul and direct our faith. The Lion of Judah has prevailed, and the Lamb has the authority and ability to unlock the access codes for living as a kings and priests today. By taking a little time daily to meditate on your identity as a king and priest unto God in a structured way, a man can systematically work through fundamental spiritual access codes that unlock spiritual growth and become established in the truth of part of God’s royal priesthood. At our first Kings and Priests Event, we learnt that there is a settled fact about our ne wdientity in Christ. We have been made a royal priesthood to reign as kings and serve like a priest in this life. While researching the wise sayings of kings in the Bible, I found a list of quick access codes that will inspire you to progress into kingdom thinking, while maintianing a humble attitude of service. Here is the first access code: Offerings to God must cost you something significant: 1 Chronicles 21:24, “Then King David said to Ornan, "No, but I will surely buy it for the full price, for I will not take what is yours for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings with that which costs me nothing." King David could have used his military power to take the land for hte taberncale from the Jebusites. Why did he not use his power to make an easy work of obtaining suitable land for God's glory? 1Ch 21:18 Therefore, the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David that David should go and erect an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. 1Ch 21:19 So David went up at the word of Gad, which he had spoken in the name of the LORD. 1Ch 21:20 Now Ornan turned and saw the angel; and his four sons who were with him hid themselves, but Ornan continued threshing wheat. 1Ch 21:21 So David came to Ornan, and Ornan looked and saw David. And he went out from the threshing floor, and bowed before David with his face to the ground. 1Ch 21:22 Then David said to Ornan, "Grant me the place of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar on it to the LORD. You shall grant it to me at the full price, that the plague may be withdrawn from the people." 1Ch 21:23 But Ornan said to David, "Take it to yourself, and let my lord the king do what is good in his eyes. Look, I also give you the oxen for burnt offerings, the threshing implements for wood, and the wheat for the grain offering; I give it all." 1Ch 21:24 Then King David said to Ornan, "No, but I will surely buy it for the full price, for I will not take what is yours for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings with that which costs me nothing." 1Ch 21:25 So David gave Ornan six hundred shekels of gold by weight for the place. 1Ch 21:26 And David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on the LORD; and He answered him from heaven by fire on the altar of burnt offering. 1Ch 21:27 So the LORD commanded the angel, and he returned his sword to its sheath. 1Ch 21:28 At that time, when David saw that the LORD had answered him on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, he sacrificed there. 1Ch 21:29 For the tabernacle of the LORD and the altar of the burnt offering, which Moses had made in the wilderness, were at that time at the high place in Gibeon. 1Ch 21:30 But David could not go before it to inquire of God, for he was afraid of the sword of the angel of the LORD. There is always a spiritual context to our sacrifice and offering to God. it is not just about the land, the money. it has to do with the heart behind the giving. As a King, you also have people that are dependent on you and that are affected by your decision making. There are consequences for each action and that is why we need the Holy Spirit to guide us in our decisions. We also need wise counsel to wage our war. David had prophets speaking into his life that were tested and proven character. he also had angelic visitations and celar words from the Lord guiding his thoughts, words and actions. When he made a mistake he was willing to repent and make it right. 600 shekels of gold secure the land for his place of sacrifice to the Lord. it is about hte same price we are paying to build our church currently!
