Kings and Priests

At our recent Kings and priests’ breakfast in Cape Town, we heard from Jaco Kotze, CEO of Cycle 2 Ride, a mountain bike experience company that hosts events, equips children to enjoy a wholistic cycle experience with their family. One of his main points were that we need to operate from the identity of kings and priests, and trust God that when our gift makes room for us, it will prosper and bring us before other kings. Then we need to be bold to make a declaration, like when Jaco proposed to build a school in Delft and many shareholders were against it. He saw ladies praying for their children in the areas and realized God was speaking to him to help the region receive a private level school at a reduced cost. Men today experience a lot of pressure from all spheres of life. As a result, they often are left to grab whatever motivation they can find to keep going. Sometimes, it works and mostly it is a secular humanistic view of what a man can achieve and become. While there is truth in motivation, the spiritual identity is where inner motivation originates and becomes sustainable. In a busy life with an overload of distracting media and information, it is essential to set aside focussed time with God, with guided Scripture reading and accurate prayer, to anchor the soul and direct our faith. The Lion of Judah has prevailed, and the Lamb has the authority and ability to unlock the access codes for living as a kings and priests today.
